My pet is with me
Capture gently, over more than one attempt.
Use clear photos first. If your pet is comfortable, a future clean-touch paw or nose process should allow pauses, retries, and an easy stop.

Preservation can begin while your pet is with you or from the photos and prints you already have. The aim is not a perfect archive. It is a useful, customer-owned record that keeps future choices open.
This page offers preservation guidance only. B2H does not currently sell a capture kit or digitization service.
Choose your starting point
Both paths keep originals with you and avoid treating one attempt or one product as the only way to preserve a relationship.

A vet card, clay impression, ink print, phone photo, or scan can be preserved without mailing the original or accepting a generic replacement.
Use an existing recordA small field guide
Collect only what feels useful. A few clear, well-labeled records are more valuable than a large folder without context.
1
Keep clear front, side, and full-body photos plus the markings, colors, ears, tail, or expressions that make your pet recognizable.
2
A paw, nose, collar, tag, or unusual pattern can carry identity. Use only a process your pet tolerates and keep the original with you.
3
Save a short video, a familiar sound, a favorite place, or an ordinary routine. These often hold context a posed photo cannot.
4
Add names, dates if they matter to you, nicknames, and one sentence explaining why each selected detail belongs in the archive.
Make the record usable
These steps are designed to keep a future suncatcher, private memory place, or portable keepsake optional rather than inevitable.
01
Choose a calm moment, prepare more than one card, stop if your pet is uncomfortable, and keep every usable attempt until you have backed it up.
02
Photograph or scan it at the largest available size, in even light, without a filter. Do not clean, trace, or overwrite the only source file.
03
Save the first photo or scan separately from any cropped, cleaned, or illustrated version so the source can always be checked later.
04
Use two locations you control and a filename you will recognize later. Add a short note that explains what the record is and where it came from.
Customer-owned by design
A useful archive should remain understandable, portable, and under your control, whether or not you ever order a product.
No generic paw, silent substitution, or fabricated identity should be presented as the customer's pet.
A future digitization service should return the usable high-resolution file instead of holding the only copy behind a product purchase.
Preserving a file should not authorize a product, public memorial, account, or automatic reuse. Each next step remains optional.
